Derek Panfil serves as senior vice president, chief merchant for Pilot. He is responsible for helping Pilot strengthen its in-store offerings and better connect the store experience to the brand. He brings a customer-first approach to retail strategy, focused on creating a consistent, seamless shopping experience across the company’s travel centers.

Prior to joining Pilot, Derek has spent more than two decades leading merchandising and product strategy at major retailers like Big Lots, Pet Supplies Plus and others.

Derek earned his bachelor of business administration in finance from Southern Methodist University.
